The Faculty of Science provides a special fellowship program to select, from among students applying to doctoral courses, students who can contribute internationally in their research field.
The fellowship award is about 2,000,000 yen in the first year and about 1,500,000 yen in the second and subsequent years. For students who go directly to a doctoral degree program after the master course at Hokkaido University, the fellowship in the first year is about 1,500,000 yen.
The fellowship award includes a research assistant (RA) compensation. Participating in research as a RA is an excellent way for a student to develop research skills.
The application deadline for the entry in April 2012 is January 16, 2012.
