Diurnal precipitation cycles over the Gulf Stream and the Kuroshio region

We have found strong diurnal precipitation cycles over the Gulf Stream region in summer and over the Kuroshio in the East China Sea in June, middle of the Baiu-Meiyu rain season (Minobe and Takebayashi, 2014, Climate Dynamic, open access).
