- TITLE : Dynamical error in quantum gate operation under conservation laws
- E-PRINT : J. Phys. A: Math. Theor. 42 (2009) 225303
- COMMENTS :
We consider a physical model of implementing a quantum gate operation
under conservation laws, in which quantum states of data qubits are
controlled by interactions with an ancilla system during the gate
operation. It has been shown in several papers that the control
interaction may induce gate errors due to the quantum nature of the
ancilla system. We derive precision limits of quantum gates by ignoring
any environmental noise and by assuming that the control interaction
obeys a conservation law. The precision limits depends on the size of
the ancilla system, where the size is defined by the Hilbert space of
the ancilla system.

- ABSTRACT :
[Morning]:
[Afternoon]: Implications of relativistic wave packets to various physical
processes at interfaces of physical systems and of non-stationary
states will be discussed. First feature of wave packet is that
space-time dependent physical quantities that are not obtained in the
standard scattering amplitude of plane waves are supplied. This is
applied to neutrino processes and neutrino interferences will be
studied. Second feature is that conservations of energy and momentum are
slightly violated due to the nature of the wave packets. Possible
implications of these non-conservations will be discussed also.

Superconformal index
Superconfomal indices have been effectively used to provide an evidence of a strong/weak dualit.
The trick is the following. They are defined to be free from quantum correction and count
BPS states in a superconformal field theory like a Witten index. Therefore,
if indices of two theories coincide, so do the BPS spectra of both theories.
The goal of the morning session is to understand this property and how to calculate
an index of a three-dimensional superconformal field theory.
--Afternoon--
Its application
In the afternoon session, we will explain our recent works on several applications of indices
to confirm the AdS_4/CFT_3 correspondence and the mirror duality in three dimension.
We are going to mainly discuss the application to N=4 Chern-Simons theories and their gravity duals.
After a review of an aspects of them, we will apply indices to confirm the AdS/CFT duality.

[ABSTRACT] : We perform a complete calculation of the relic abundance of the
KK-photon LKP in the universal extra dimension model including all
coannihilation channels and all resonances. We show that the
production of level 2 particles which decay dominantly into SM
particles contribute significantly to coannihilation processes
involving level 1 KK-leptons. As a result the preferred dark matter
scale is increased to R^{-1}=1.3 TeV. A dark matter candidate at or
below the TeV scale can only be found in the non-minimal model by
reducing the mass splittings between the KK-particles and the LKP. The
LKP nucleon scattering cross section is typically small, \sigma <
10^{-10} pb, unless the KK-quarks are nearly degenerate with the LKP.

//Morning// Higgs and Physics at the Tera scale
//Afternoon// Models of the radiative seesaw scenario
- ABSTRACT :
//Morning// Physics of electroweak symmetry breaking is the last unknown
part in the standard model (SM). The Higgs sector in the SM
is responsible for the origin of mass for all the elementary
particels, and at the same time it causes the hierarchy problem.
The hierarchy problem as well as phenomena such as neutrino
oscillation, dark matter and baryon asymmetry indicate necessity
of new physics beyond the SM. In this talk, we discuss the
Higgs physics and new physics scenarios at the Tera scale
which can be tested at current and future collider experiments
such as the LHC and the International Linear Collider.
//Afternoon// We discuss the models of radiative seesaw scenario in which
tiny neutrino masses are generated at the loop level.
Some of them contain a dark matter candidate and also a
mechanism of baryogenesis. I give a review for models
in this direction, and then discuss details of the model in which
neutrino masses are generated at the 3-loop level, dark matter is
a scalar boson with an odd quantum number of the Z2 parity,
and electroweak baryogenesis may be realized.

Combinatorics of conformal blocks and Nekrasov function
In this first half of the seminar,
we discuss efficient computation methods of the 2d CFT and 4d gauge theory.
For 2d CFT, we can compute the chiral correlation functions (i.e, conformal blocks)
by employing the representation theory of the Virasoro algebra.
Meanwhile the partition functions of N=2 gauge theories in 4D (Nekrasov partition function)
have explicit expressions as a summation over the Young diagrams.
Then, the curious thing is that these two objects give the same answer
after combinatorical computation. This phenomena is the so-called AGT relation.
I will give explanation of it by showing simple examples.
--Afternoon--
AGT conjecture and geometric engineering
We discuss the AGT relation, which is a newly-discovered duality between 2d CFT and 4d gauge theory.
I extend this relation by using the W-algebra, which is a generalization of
the Virasoro conformal symmetry. These relations imply that there is unknown connection
between the representation theory of conformal symmetries and the instanton calculus
of 4-dimensional gauge theories.
Next, I focus on the surface operators of the gauge theory side.
I show that we can analyze the operator by using topological string theory.
As a byproduct、we obtain the explicit formula for the expectation value of the operator
through the curve counting a certain local Calabi-Yau manifold.

An Introduction to the Batalin-Vilkovisky Formalism
In some gauge theories, it is difficult to
perform gauge fixing via the BRST formalism.
The Batalin-Vilkovisky formalism, which is the extension
of the BRST formalism, provides us with a systematic way to
deal with such complicated gauge systems.
We will review this powerful formalism, referring to the relation to the
BRST formalism.

Gauge Fixing of Open Superstring Field Theory
We perform gauge fixing in the Wess-Zumino-Witten-type open
superstring field theory by using the Batalin-Vilkovisky formalism.
For this purpose, first we solve the master equation, which is
a sort of Ward-Takahashi identity. In the free theory, we solve the equation
completely and gauge-fix the theory. In the interacting theory, using
the result in the free theory,
we determine the form of cubic terms in the solution to the master equation.
