Observation of Planocera reticulata (Turbellaria: Polycladida: Planoceridae)

A polyclad specimen was obtained subtidally at Oshoro Bay, Hokkaido, Japan, about 43°12′N, 140°51′E, on 7 June 2010 by Satoshi Ito, photographed and identified by Hiroshi Kajihara as Planocera reticulata based on Nunomura (1992: 187). The anterior half of the body was fixed in 10% formalin seawater, while the posterior half was fixed in 99% EtOH. These have been deposited at the Hokkaido University Museum under the catalogue number ICHU22080004 (contact: Dr. Hiroshi Kajihara, kazi@mail.sci.hokudai.ac.jp).
